Built in May 1973, as evidenced by the Motor Heritage Certificate, it represents a period of construction for these sports cars that is generally regarded as the ultimate expression of its purity. Initially ordered by British Leyland, it then began a period of its ownership in Falkirk, Scotland before undergoing a comprehensive, ground-up rebuild between the years of 1992 and 1998. During this period the entire suspension, running gear, chassis and engine were meticulously rebuilt, and finished with a new Heritage shell, in British Racing Green, representing a comprehensive "nuts & bolts" rebuild, in the true sense of the words.
