The engine starts first time every time, runs strong with no strange noises, no smoke, and revs cleanly genuinely impressive for the age and mileage. New battery fitted. The car is currently driveable (SOMETIMES). Most of the time the rotary gear selector does not rise on ignition this is a known issue on the XF, there's no mechanical gearbox fault as it shifts and drives if the gear selector decides to rise. The gearbox itself functions normally. This is the main reason for the spares or repair price and likely a straightforward fix for someone with diagnostics. All electrics are working interior lighting, windows, headlights, LEDs, rear lights, boot, infotainment and radio all functional. Dashboard shows some fault codes including bonnet sensor and coolant sensor which I believe are sensor faults as both have been physically checked and are fine. The car has been stood for a couple of years due to the owner's ill health, which explains the condition. Cosmetically the bonnet and wings will need a respray. 131k miles.
