Description
1989 Porsche 944.
Black.
Car currently won't start however the car does turn over, the engine isn't seized. The car was running & driving fine around 18 months ago until the car was parked & stored (under cover). I've got extremely limited mechanical knowledge but the fuel pump is getting 3V of power. There appears to be no spark on the ignition leads so that appears to be the issue stopping it starting. I know replacing a few relays can sometimes get these going based on Youtube videos.
The car failed its MOT in 2023 due to some rust on the chassis which I believe is fixable. This car really does need some TLC. Perfect project car for someone who wants to get into classics. I dont think it'll take much to have the car running and driving again but will need body work to pass an MOT. Its just a 1989 car that's been stationary for 18 months and needs a knowledgeable eye and time spending on it.
A few of the body panels are showing some rust, in particular the front drivers side wheel arch.
The wheels are in pretty bad shape but you can pick up a full set of wheels and tyres dirt cheap these days. I'd look to replace those.
The car has a brand new battery with a 5 year warranty.
The interior is in really nice shape. Nothing to worry about there.
On the whole its a really nice example that just needs some TLC.
The car belonged to my dad and he loved it. He'd be happy knowing its back on the road making someone else just as happy as it made him.
You're welcome to come view the car, even try and get it going if you think you can help.
I don't currently have the service history however I can potentially get it.
