Description
We bought this Mk1 TT quattro for a boys' trip to the Nurburgring, so this is a great opportunity for someone to pick up one of these modern classics with heaps of work and attention that you won't likely find in another example.
Lots of money spent on parts, with the focus on the jobs that really matter: brakes, tyres, fluids, steering, alignment, interior and paintwork.
Recent work completed includes: engine oil and filter change, coolant drained and replaced with pink coolant, Brembo grooved and dimpled discs and pads fitted all round, brake fluid replaced with ATE Typ 200, front CV boots replaced both sides, driver's front track rod end replaced, Continental SportContact 7 tyres fitted, plus front tracking and alignment.
The engine bay has also clearly had enthusiast attention previously, with visible upgrades including an aftermarket turbo dump valve, large enclosed performance air filter/airbox setup, upgraded/replaced coolant hoses and other engine-bay improvements. I'm not claiming exact power figures or a specific tune, but it is not a neglected standard and pulls super well!
I gave it a deep valet and so it presents very well. The interior is in wonderful shape and now has new mats for the front, passenger area and boot. The paintwork has also been machine polished, giving it a much fresher appearance while still being honest for its age.
It has a Blaupunkt Nuremberg 200 DAB tuner, properly connected through the Bose adapter, so the stereo works as it should rather than being a badly-wired aftermarket install.
The only real fault we are aware of is with the remote central locking. The remotes (2) are not currently working and the central locking operates from the passenger door rather than the driver's door. Importantly, the central locking itself does work, so this appears to be an electrical/lock signal issue rather than the whole system being dead. These are known Mk1 TT niggles and needs someone to trace the door wiring, lock microswitch/actuator, fuses or comfort/convenience module.
We just ran out of time to investigate it properly before heading to Nurburgring.
Please also note the car has had an air-con delete, which may suit buyers looking for a simpler fast-road / enthusiast setup.
As with any 20+ year-old car, please expect some age-related marks and small jobs depending on how perfect you want it, but this is a well-presented and much-improved example with a strong list of recent work behind it.
Viewings welcome.
