Description

Selling my gorgeous Mk 1 Audi TT but only because my dodgy knee prevents me from using a clutch! I've had her for over 5 years as a fun second car and she's been amazingly reliable. There's a full 12m MOT and I've just fitted a new battery. If, like me, you love the Mk1 TT with its unique shape, gorgeous curves and extensive aluminium internal fittings, you're unlikely to find one newer than this as it was registered 31st March 2006, a couple of months before Audi stopped production in June 2006. 1.8 litre 20 valve Turbocharged 4 cylinder Petrol Engine 180bhp Electric windows Alcantara Suede & Leather seats Heated front seats Air conditioning Electric wing mirrors Modern stereo fitted (I have an original factory fitted one if you would like it) Original Manual and 2 keys Bodywork in overall good condition I have not been able to garage her and as a result, there are now a number of places where the first rust blisters in the paintwork have appeared (see examples photos) and these should really be treated soon, especially if you don't have a garage. There are some light scratches & scuffs in places but these should polish out. The only functional issue I am aware of is the ESP dashboard warning light being on. When preparing for sale, I was looking into why the ESP button (turns off traction control) wasn't illuminating. Eventually I found that a previous owner had stuffed a wad of black foam over the dash pod LED and without it, the warning light is always on. So the light must has been on for at least 5 years even though I've never experienced any problems. A dealers VAG scanner shows the warning is due to a faulty brake pressure sensor (see image). I have already transferred insurance to my replacement (automatic) car so I'm not happy to drive it around to get a mechanic to fit a new sensor though I have already purchased a new OEM one (included). If I was keeping her, I probably still wouldn't get the sensor replaced since it's never caused me a problem. The buyer may feel the same but I'm not happy selling it without full disclosure of what I know. I'm in Liverpool L15 near the end of the M62. I don't have her insured at the moment but if you have fully comp insurance on another car, you should be insured 3rd party on the TT so I'm happy for you to take for a test drive. If you don't have insurance cover, I would need to put it back on my insurance for the day. Any questions, please ask.
