This car featured in the April 2022 edition of the Mercedes Benz UK Club 'Gazette' magazine as the previous owner worked with Mercedes AMG to identify that the engine was modified by AMG prior to delivery in 1989. AMG versions of the 560SEC are extremely rare, UK right hand drive versions even rarer again. A standard 560SEC was an extremely expensive car in 1989. AMG upgrades would have made this more expensive than the Ferrari of the time. Unusually, this UK car was delivered to a Merced Benz showroom in Paris , prior to registration with DVLA, and one assumes then driven back to the UK.
