One of only 1,711 Bentley T1s produced between 1965 and 1977, chassis 'SBH20478' was manufactured in 1975 and supplied new to the home market via Jack Barclay Ltd., first registered on 10th March that year. Originally registered 'TES 394' to its first owner, who lived near Coupar Angus in the Scottish Highlands, the car's second owner was P&A Wood (contemporary DVLA documentation also carries an intriguing related reference to Daks Simpson of Jermyn Street, London). It then passed through two further keepers – one understood to have been a Bentley Drivers Club member – before the fifth owner acquired the car, then showing barely 16,000 miles, from Silver Lady Services in Bournemouth in June 2005. Over an eighteen-year ownership the Bentley was used sparingly and cared for meticulously, benefiting from re-polished woodwork, replacement bumper ends and a new stainless-steel exhaust, with servicing entrusted throughout to respected marque specialist Silver Chalice of Sheffield. Invoices and MOTs from this period are on file. Since joining its current custodian in 2023, the T1 has proven itself as capable as it is beautiful – completing a trouble-free European road trip to Monaco with the family aboard. When not in use, it is kept in a heated, dehumidified garage under a bespoke cover, which is included in the sale. Presented in the elegant combination of Scots Pine over Luxan Light Green Connolly leather, the cabin remains a highlight – the leather sumptuous and the woodwork in excellent order, a testament to the care of its long-term custodians. 'KTW 554N' has now covered just c.26,000 miles from new and comes with a substantial history file, including its original Jack Barclay order form and current Swansea V5C.
