Description
2003 Mini Cooper, 101,000 miles. Currently SORN with no MOT or tax, but the car runs and has been fitted with a new battery.
The Mini Cooper (R50) is a fun, characterful hatchback that has become something of a modern classic. Practical enough for daily use, the model is known for its go-kart handling. This one has been off the road for a couple of years and needs some work to get it back on the road, so it's priced to reflect that and is being sold as a genuine project. In the family since c.2013.
It failed its last MOT with the following advised:
Needs immediate attention:
Front brake pads worn below 1.5mm
Nearside track rod end ball joint - excessive play
Headlamp aim needs adjustment on both sides
Nearside rear wheel bearing rough when rotated
Nearside number plate lamp bulb needed
Advisories noted:
Slight oil leak
Footbrake travel
Nearside rear tyre showing signs of perishing
Front brake discs worn, but not excessively
None of the above is structural or engine/gearbox related it's all straightforward mechanical work that a competent home mechanic or independent garage should be able to work through without major difficulty.
Ideal for someone looking for an honest project car, a Mini enthusiast after their next build, or anyone happy to do their own spannering and get a characterful little car back on the road for relatively modest outlay compared to buying one already sorted.
Full MOT report available on request, along with more photos if needed.
