Description

Auto Mercedes E 211 Estate for sale, with the bulletproof 2.1 OM646 engine. I am open to sensible offers. I bought this last December as the clutch in my own car had failed at the time and was waiting for parts, but required a large estate car to go on a skiing holiday in France. Bought as a stopgap, but I have kept up till now as it has been just so lovely and comfortable to drive. As a result of the holiday, I have done a few bits and pieces to the car: -4x brand new Hankook Kinergy 4S all season tyres, fitted & balanced -4 wheel alignment -New thermostat & antifreeze to fix cold running issue -Cylinders 1 & 3 injector seals & bolts replaced (previous owner had subsequently replaced the remaining cylinders) -ABS sensor & reluctor ring -I did an oil & filter change before the holiday and just recently replaced the oil at 185,000 -New windscreen (previous one had picked up a crack from a worsening stone chip) It has clearly been looked after by the previous owners and while it doesn't have a service book, I do have receipts from Mercedes up till about 2012 and receipts from independents since then. In really good cosmetic condition and the underneath looks especially clean. There are a few things which I haven't addressed: -Air conditioning - This did work when I bought it but was incredibly weak. I tried a Kwik-Fit re-gas but they reckon an O-ring has burst as it immediately formed a leak when they tried a full regas. -Glow plug light comes on for first 20 seconds of starting but goes out. It does not seem to affect the cold start at all though - it still started in -20 while in the Alps after sitting all week. -Small graze on front bumper, the only real cosmetic blemish. That was me while on said holiday, trying to squeeze into a tight underground carpark. I will replace the slightly corroded metallic trim on the rear wiper arm before sale, I just haven't had the time to fit before writing the advert. Any questions, please let me know.
