Description
*Spares or repairs - gearbox issue*
Very reluctant sale of my Skoda Superb. Super-rare 3.6-litre V6 petrol 4x4 DSG Elegance. Timing chains replaced just a few months ago - this is a big job, including variable valve timing sprockets, tensioners and associated parts. I really had intended to keep this car for a long time and I've invested a lot of money in to it. Receipts in pics.
This week a gearbox issue came up, I recovered it to a garage where they diagnosed the fault as likely requiring a replacement DSG mechatronic unit. I can't face spending yet more on the car and I have a backup so I have decided to sell it as spares or repairs.
I would strongly recommend any buyer to arrange collection on a flatbed before tackling the gearbox issue.
Lots of really nice touches in this car. Auto parallel park, magnetic torch in the boot and the umbrella in the rear passenger door. Incredible leg room, boot space and an amazing soundtrack in sport mode. A really smart sleeper car and less than 20 left on UK roads, based on my research.
Engine oil and filter changed by me every 5,000 miles (or sooner), with new spark plugs, air filter and cabin filter fitted last year. Receipts for garage work included.
Other minor cosmetic issues:
One piece of trim off in the boot from where I replaced the rear parking sensor speaker. (I still have the piece to fit)
NSF headlight support bracket snapped (headlight works fine)
One front grille piece missing
Loose rear badge
I really am gutted to be selling it.
I'll happily show any other pictures or help out in any way I can to show what the car is like.
If I had the confidence to take on the gearbox repair myself, I wouldn't be selling it. Hopefully it can go to someone who has the knowledge to get it back to its full potential.
