Description

This is the model that any enthusiast should go for. The Tourer (Estate with opening rear window), with the BMW diesel engine - one up in Durham has exceeded 400k miles!). Automatic with Connoisseur trim - leather seats, wood rim steering wheel, heated and electrically operated seats, 6CD changer. I have owned this for 30 months and it has been my Daily Driver. It's taken us to Scotland and to Alsace and back (1800 miles). In this time I have replaced the chipped windscreen, crankshaft pulley (366), N/S rear cill (475) and only this month the entire cooling fan and gold resistor. The car has been remapped by two of the Rover 75 club's gurus which has restored the torque and power to what it was designed to do. (BMW de-tuned it on launch as they thought it would compete with their own Series 3 range). In total I have spent some 2300 keeping it running smoothly - a love story which other Rover 75 owners will understand. The headlining is not original but is taut. I have recently cleaned out he EGR and manifold. The air-con does need some attention as it has dificulty coping with this hot weather (don't we all). Dealer stamps and all my bills available.plus two keys. Reason for sale? I am holding on to my other Rover 75, a V6 Connoisseur with sun-roof that is my Sunday car, and pride and joy. NOT for sale. NB I have just bought a low mileage Ford Focus Estate, which will an interesting car with many gizmos is not nearly as comfortable or as characterful. And I can't see anyone wanting to stop and chat about it while shopping! Each to their own . . .
