SUMMARY
I bought this TT in early spring with the intention of keeping it long term. The roof drains were leaking, a very common problem which absolutely destroys all the electrics on these cars, so do watch out if you're in the market for one. I stripped the interior and boot area (have pictures) to clean out every single roof drain and gutter, a massive, labour-intensive job that costs hundreds at a specialist, but guarantees the roof electronics stay safe and the cabin stays bone dry. The roof mechanism was fully serviced, greased, and operates flawlessly at the push of a button.
After that was sorted, I fixed all the wear and tear mechanical and common electrical issues detailed above. It was serviced in May and I have been out of the country since, so it has hardly done a hundred miles, if that.
Which brings me to the reason for sale. I missed the entire convertible season this year and am leaving again in a couple of months, so if I get the right price for it, I will let it go; otherwise, I will use it next summer.
Given the low ownership, sought-after manual box, rare colour combination, and the sheer volume of costly mechanical headaches already cured for the next owner, I am in no rush to sell. I am sure there will be cheaper ones out there, but you will easily run into four figures putting the common problems right. This one is ready to drop the top and drive away today.
