Description
Reluctantly selling my 2016 Volvo V40 D4 R-Design Pro (manual). We are moving soon and no longer need two cars. Since my partner only has an automatic licence, this one sadly has to go. I would love to keep it as it is a fantastic car to drive and pulls like a train, easily matching the performance of other powerful cars I've owned.
It is the top-of-the-range model and comes heavily loaded with factory extras, including the Xenium, Intellisafe Pro, Winter Plus, Sports, and Illumination packs. It's a premium and comfortable car to sit in.
* **Features:** Fixed panoramic sunroof, full black leather sports seats (powered with driver memory), Harman Kardon premium sound system, digital driver's display, DAB, Bluetooth, and electronic climate control.
* **Exterior:** 18" Ixion IV diamond-cut alloys, LED auto-levelling headlights, tinted rear windows, and R-Design styling.
* **Safety & Tech:** Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Park Assist Pilot (self-parking), front and rear sensors with a reversing camera, lane keeping aid, and City Safety.
**Maintenance & History:**
The car has 118,351 miles on the clock, currently averages around 42.5 MPG, and has an extensive service record.
* **Timing Belt:** The timing belt and water pump were replaced by a Volvo specialist at 86,000 miles in April 2021. The recommended interval for this D4 engine is 90,000 miles or 10 years, so the belt won't need doing again until 176,000 miles or April 2031.
* **Servicing:** It had a major service in Sept 2025 (at 116,513 miles) which included a new oil filter and particulate filter.
* **Tyres & Battery:** Four brand new Avon tyres fitted in Dec 2024 with plenty of tread left, and a brand new battery fitted in August 2025. Thesr include a Halfords warranty.
* **Other Work:** NSF coil spring and strut top mount replaced in May 2024, and rear brake pads replaced in Oct 2024.
**Faults:**
The car drives brilliantly and the interior is very clean , but I prefer to be completely upfront about a few things so there are no wasted journeys:
* There is a dashboard warning for the collision warning sensor, meaning the Adaptive Cruise Control currently requires repair. I've had it investigated and the sensor needs replacing (can be done for ~1000 using brand new parts, or ~200 with second-hand parts).
* Cosmetically, there are some age-related marks: scuffs and scratches on the lower front bumper near the air intake, a minor dent on the upper side roof rail, and standa
