Description
The vehicle has developed a rattling/noisy sound on cold startup. The vehicle has been listened to by a mechanic on a cold start, who confirmed that the startup noise is present and is consistent with the known timing chain issue associated with the 2.0L Ingenium diesel engine.
I am therefore being completely transparent about the issue and the car is being sold on the basis that the buyer is aware that the timing chain may require investigation and/or replacement.
This would be an ideal opportunity for a mechanic, trader or independent Land Rover specialist who is able to carry out the required timing chain work themselves or at trade cost. The car is otherwise in good condition, drives and runs, and represents a good opportunity for someone with the skills and facilities to undertake the work.
Steering rack replaced June 2026
The vehicle was subject to the manufacturer's steering rack bolt recall and was inspected by Hatfields in June 2026. As part of the recall work, the full steering rack was replaced. I have the paperwork confirming the work.
The car is otherwise in good, clean working order for its age and mileage. It drives well, all electrics are working, and the interior and exterior are in good condition.
Good, clean interior and exterior for age and mileage
The startup noise is fully disclosed, and the buyer is welcome to inspect the vehicle and/or arrange their own independent inspection before purchase.
SAS, with the known startup noise fully disclosed. Buyer to satisfy themselves regarding the condition of the vehicle prior to purchase.
