Description

This is a beautiful car with one fault - please read the whole advert. The car drives absolutely immaculately, it is mechanically superb. Bodywork is largely great, though it is a 9 year old car and has a few marks commensurate with age. MOT til December, it has just had (this week) a gearbox oil service, 4 new tyres, and it had the timing belt and water pump replaced a few months ago. It is an amazing car. It has one fault and has been priced accordingly. It has the cool matrix LED adaptive headlights fitted. Somewhere in the controllers or sensors there is a fault that causes the lights intermittently to go into a failsafe low beam mode - when this happens, the car locks both headlights into low beam, and none of the active functions work, nor does high beam. This can happen after 1 minute, or one hour, or one week - when it does, turning the car off and on clears the fault, and they both work fine until it trips them again. I have just had it in a Ford main dealer who found a fault code for the right headlight and I had it replaced, but it didn't clear the fault - I have been told they now need to work out which controller or module is causing the failsafe, and it is booked in at the end of August. However, I am keen to change car for the summer - this should be a 12k car but I have reduced that by 3k to sell. That will more than cover any repair, and is worst case (if the other headlight needed replacing they are 1700 for the unit), so buyer will likely find and replace a module for much less. A lot of information, but I would not sell the car with hidden issues, so you have full disclosure! Lights always work on low beam as a minimum. Engine and gearbox and drive are faultless. Comes with 2 keys. If it isn't sold before I can get it back in to Ford in mid late august, I'll find and replace the module and adjust the price of the car back up to market value
