Description
This is a good one. Premium Lusso spec, 3.0 L V6 Busso engine, desirable colour combination of grey metallic paint with deep red full Momo leather seats, near-concourse interior, excellent exterior and mechanical condition. It's a combination people wait for when sourcing a GTV, as I did, particularly in a car as original as this one.
This GTV is fresh from over 3k spent on new disks, pads, coolant leak repair, brake refurbishment, welding of localised rust in jack points, suspension and CV joint boots and new bottom idler pulley amongst other improvements. MOT is to March 2027. The work was done by Edward Labinjoh in Edinburgh, a respected specialist classic Alfa restorer.
The car came to me 10 years ago and since then has covered 5000 miles, being driven only in fair weather on salt-free roads and dry-garaged. It comes with an extensive file of previous work and maintenance records. The Busso engine runs smoothly with no misfiring or abnormal noises and has been completely reliable during my ownership. Acceleration is smooth and rapid and steering true. Gear changes are smooth with no clutch slip.
This is a highly original yet excellent condition GTV, presenting an option to further enhance with a clear potential to reach concourse standard. The interior is already near-concourse, the engine bay clean and tidy and the paintwork excellent. There is no structural or wheel arch rust, the enemy of these Italian coupes. The only re-spray has been the offside rear panel following repair and welding of the wheel arch prior to my ownership. The alloys are un-refurbished teledial factory originals and show only minor kerbing. All floor mats are original, as is the toolkit. The radio/cassette deck does not currently work though has in the recent past. I've not repaired this on the basis a new owner may opt to do this if keeping the car entirely original, or may fit a new system. The driver's side outer bolster shows minor scuffing in the usual place. The only modification is the Autodelta stainless twin exhaust added prior to my ownership (which sounds incredible !).
If you're searching for a GTV 916 you'll be aware the V6 is becoming harder to find. Most offered for sale need a significant upfront financial outlay to bring them to a decent standard, unless you can do the work yourself.
The price is negotiable and sensible offers will be considered. More photos are available on request. Please use the message option rather than ringing, thanks.
