Description
1990 MK1 Golf Cabriolet - 1.8 litre petrol - manual
This is my beautiful MK1 Golf that I'm sadly having to part with due to needing University funds.
It was purchased as a semi-barn find at the beginning of 2025 where it had previously spent some time in storage, and we have carried out a process of recommissioning during my year off.
It starts first time, drives exceptionally well, and had been incredibly reliable in the time I've owned it.
The car come with a huge history file detailing all the work that has been done by us and the owners before us. There are also the original dealer wallet and 2 keys. As you can see this car is very well presented and has had countless hours of work put into it over the years.
Apart from the usual regular maintenance (oil, filters and plugs etc) we have done lots of things to improve the car in the time we have owned it, including:
New timing belt
New ancillary belts
New ignition module and coil
New thermostat
New Coolant hoses
New thermostatic switch on the radiator
New drive shaft gaiter
New battery
New engine mounts
Fixed the seat runners
New Gear box linkage
We have removed the Piranha alarm / immobiliser system (as this was causing a problem).
Other notable features from the history file:
New roof
A full respray
Body kit
Lowered suspension
ORIGINAL upholstery/seats.
PERSONAL NOTE:
This car was purchased for me to use on my year off and has allowed me to learn more about car maintenance. Many of the simpler jobs were done at home by me and my father.
This car is totally stand out and gets attention no matter where I go and is always a talking point. This car is beloved by myself and my friends, many of whom are devastated at the news of her sale.
150K miles on the clock.
