Description
Infinity Automotive Solutions are pleased to market this 2021 Renault Arkana 1.6 E-TECH Hybrid 145 S Edition, finished in Pearl White. Just 2 owners from new and comes with a full Renault main dealer service history.
The Arkana is one of the more interesting things Renault has built in recent years — a genuine coupe-SUV, with a sloping fastback roofline and wide, muscular rear haunches that give it real presence and make it look considerably more expensive than it is. In Pearl White, a premium pearlescent finish, it looks excellent, and the deep C-shaped LED light signature front and rear gives it an unmistakable identity on the road.
Importantly, this is a full hybrid — not a plug-in. There is nothing to plug in and no charging to organise. The car manages everything itself, recovering energy under braking and moving off and running on pure electric power at town speeds, with the petrol engine cutting in seamlessly when you need it. Renault reckons up to 80% of urban driving can be done on electricity alone, and in practice it means genuinely low fuel bills in traffic, where conventional petrol cars are at their worst. Official combined economy is up to 58.9mpg with CO2 of just 109g/km.
The E-TECH system itself is clever. A 1.6-litre petrol engine works with two electric motors and a clutchless multi-mode automatic gearbox that Renault developed using knowledge from its Formula 1 programme, offering four ratios for the petrol engine and two for the electric drive. Combined output is 145bhp, giving 0-62mph in 10.8 seconds and a relaxed, quiet driving experience. There's also a B mode for one-pedal driving with increased regenerative braking, which makes stop-start traffic much less tiring once you're used to it.
S Edition is a genuinely well-equipped specification. This car has 18-inch alloy wheels, full LED headlights with the C-shaped LED front signature, and the 9.3-inch portrait EASY LINK touchscreen with built-in satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and DAB radio. You also get a hands-free keycard with keyless entry and start, automatic climate control, a leather steering wheel, a rear-view camera, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and electric windows.
The driver assistance list is better than you'd expect at this money: adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot warning, traffic sign recognition and active emergency braking all come as standard.
Practicality is strong for a car with this much style. Despite the coupe roofline there's a 480-litre boot, which is larger than plenty of conventional family hatchbacks, and rear legroom is good thanks to the long wheelbase. It also sits in insurance group 15, which keeps running costs sensible.
One of the best reasons to buy this car is the battery warranty. Renault covers the hybrid traction battery for 8 years or 100,000 miles, and crucially it transfers to you as the next owner. On a 2021 car with 48,000 miles, that means cover on the hybrid system run
