Description
Our "Landy" has had 12 owners, we have owned the car since 2009, bought privately, when it had 21, 957 miles on the clock As you can see it has not done many miles over the last 17 years. It has an MOT expiring 7. 1. 27 but it has classic status and doesn't really need one or any road tax. We have a pile of invoices covering all the work/ servicing we have had done. We researched the mileage as far back as we could to August 2006 when it had covered 16, 303 miles, so the current mileage of just 30, 336 could be accurate.
We have had the cab floor sound insulated which does make a difference. We replaced the leaf springs with parabolic ones and fitted new shock absorbers so the ride is more comfortable. The transfer gears work, but are rarely used. The chassis has been welded over the years but has been recently rubbed down and coated in under-seal paint so is protected.
It has quality Goodyear Wrangler All terrain tyres which are hardly worn. I bought the car as a surprise birthday present for my wife's special birthday as she had always wanted a Land Rover.
There are not many Series 3 Land Rovers around Cornwall so it stands out against the usual everyday cars and always inspires a smile. We have had so much fun with it and many happy memories.
It is in good condition with some surface rust patches which would not cost too much to fix but is a very good runner. The engine has not had any serious surgery, it starts fine and pulls well for its age and is happy to cruise at 45 mph.
As we live in Cornwall, nowhere is particularly flat so we have ensured that the brakes work well.
It has the classic colour combination of Marine blue and with a limestone roof. It has 4 rear seat belts so can carry 6 people.
So if you want a classic land rover with very low mileage, mostly original parts and one that has not been mucked about with too much, this could be the one for you.
Thank you for looking.
