Description
If you want to buy an "as new" 9 year old petrol Jaguar XF. This is probably for you.
One owner from new. I am stopping driving, as I am in my 90s now, but I will be very sad to see it go. The last of my 11 Jaguars since 1982.
Bought at Guy Salmon of Ascot. Garaged from new. Full Jaguar Service history (Fox's of Guildford) , carried out every 12 months. Used regularly throughout ownership. Never more than 7500 miles, or less than 1300 miles per year, so always early oil changes.
It has been faultless throughout its time with us, apart from having the camshaft solenoids (1 hole solenoids) replaced with the newer, much more reliable (3 hole solenoids). Which fixes a known issue with these engines.
It had a major service (96 month) carried out 800 miles ago, which amongst other things replaced the spark plugs. So it is in absolutely tip-top shape. Everything works as it did when new.
Finished in gorgeous, Loire Blue metallic paint, with Latte Windsor leather, Light Oyster Morzine headlining and Gloss Ebony Veneer. It's a very elegant machine.
18 inch wheels were chosen to provide the most cosseting ride, as befits a Jaguar. Bigger wheels just give a bad ride and more tyre noise. The recent (8oo mls ago) 4 new tyres are Pirelli P Zeros, as they offer the quietest ride of any of the original Jaguar spec tyres. Privacy glass was also de-selected, to avoid the "Gangster look". The back seats and boot have rarely been used, but the car has been a lovely place to be , whatever the journey.
The Portfolio is already very well specified but I did add a Heated Steering wheel, which I love in winter, and the optional paintwork. The light colours of the leather and headlining were chosen to avoid the claustrophobic feel of dark interiors, and it has been an excellent choice for us.
There is some marking to the edge of the drivers seat, from getting in and out through a half open door, due to a tight garage. Apart from that, the interior is absolutely as new.
The exterior has a few marks, commensurate with normal use over the years. A few minor stone-chips and minor scratches, which have been touched in. There is also a touched in scratch on the front passenger door handle. The front wheels have been refurbished recently and the rear wheels do have some light
kerbing marks. Paint is in excellent condition, as is the underside. The engine bay has never been cleaned, so you can see that it has never got dirty either. No leaks, no faults!
