June 1957 Land Rover Series 1 Diesel 109 Pickup Truck, 61740 Miles, Grey Right Hand Drive Great condition inside and out with only 61740 genuine miles, registered as a historic vehicle, tax and MOT exempt. It had an extensive sympathetic restoration in 2000 retaining the physical signs of its working life and featured in a 4 page spread with "Land Rover World" magazine which I can send to any potential buyers, has also appeared in "Legend" Land Rover Magazine. This is a very rare model, Land Rover built 200,000 series 1 Land Rovers but only made a total of 449 diesels, this was the 43rd off the production line. In 1957 there were 297 diesel units built and only 153 of these were 109s and in 1958 there were 152 diesel units built, the majority were left hand drive for export. In 2001 the Land Rover Series 1 Club knew of only eight 109 diesels still surviving world wide. Also has a PTO installed from its former occupation as a fire engine where it spent the majority of its early years parked inside with little use. It has just had the following mechanical overhaul.
