Description

Due in September. Few cars turn heads like the IONIQ 5, and this is the one to have: 2022, top-of-the-range Ultimate specification, the larger 73kWh battery, and the desirable Tech Pack fitted from new. Just 19,000 miles and two owners. Hyundai's award-winning electric flagship — World Car of the Year, European Car of the Year and UK Car of the Year — looks like nothing else on the road, with its pixel LED lighting, flush pop-out door handles and a clean, retro-futuristic shape that still stops people in the street four years on. Step inside and it feels a class above. The cabin is built around twin 12.3-inch screens running Hyundai's crisp navigation and full Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with an augmented-reality head-up display projecting directions onto the windscreen. Ultimate specification brings genuine luxury: heated and ventilated electric leather front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a BOSE premium sound system with subwoofer, solar and privacy glass, a smart powered tailgate and a sliding centre console. The Tech Pack adds memory front seats, the wonderful reclining "relaxation" front seats for charging stops, a 360-degree surround-view monitor, blind-spot view monitor, reverse parking collision avoidance and Remote Smart Parking Assist — the party trick that lets you drive the car in and out of a tight space from outside using the key. Because the IONIQ 5 sits on a dedicated electric platform, the wheelbase is longer than a Range Rover's — so rear legroom is enormous, the floor is completely flat and the boot is a practical 527 litres with a further 57 litres under the bonnet. The rear seats slide and recline, which makes it a properly comfortable family car rather than just a stylish one. The 160kW (217ps) rear-mounted motor delivers 350Nm instantly, good for 0-62mph in 7.4 seconds — quick, quiet and beautifully refined, with paddle-adjustable regenerative braking and an i-Pedal one-pedal driving mode. Highway Drive Assist II keeps it relaxed on long motorway runs, holding lane and distance for you. Range is a realistic 281 miles WLTP, and the IONIQ 5's real advantage is its 800-volt architecture — one of the very few cars at this money that can accept up to 350kW, taking the battery from 10-80% in around 18 minutes at an ultra-rapid charger. A home wallbox will fully charge it in around six hours on the 11kW onboard charger. Vehicle-to-Load also lets you run mains appliances from the car, inside or out — handy for camping, events or working away. Presented in excellent order with 19,000 careful miles, and with the balance of Hyundai's 8-year / 100,000-mile high-voltage battery warranty still to run. Finance and part exchange welcome — get in touch to arrange a viewing or test drive. Key features 73kWh battery, 160kW (217ps) rear-wheel drive, single-speed automatic 281 miles WLTP combined range 800V architecture — up to 350kW DC charging, 10-80% in approximately 18
