Description

I have owned this R32 for 18 years, having bought it with just 14,000 miles on the clock. It has now covered only 54,000 documented miles and for around 15 years has effectively been a third car - always garaged, cherished and maintained regardless of cost. During my ownership I have spent over 30,000 on the car, covering its professional conversion, upgrades, maintenance and care. Everything has been done properly, with the intention of creating something special while retaining the factory character of the original R32. Around two years into my ownership, the car was professionally converted by my long-standing independent Volkswagen specialist using an EIP turbo system sourced from America, complete with intercooler. The conversion is now approximately 16 years old and has proven itself over time. Considerable attention was given to heat management, with the turbo housing and manifold professionally ceramic coated by Zircotec to reduce under-bonnet temperatures. Despite the conversion, the car remains remarkably factory in appearance. There are no aftermarket wheels, lowered suspension or gauges stuck around the interior. The additional instrumentation has been uniquely integrated into the dashboard so it looks as though it belongs there. It retains its factory suspension and original R32 wheels, professionally diamond cut and polished. The braking system was substantially upgraded with a bespoke AP Racing setup costing approximately 5,000. One of the car's defining features is its screamer pipe, venting excess boost directly to atmosphere and producing an incredible sound under boost. It really does need to be heard. The car has never been raced or used on a track. It has full service history, extensive invoices and receipts, replacement timing chains, brand-new headlining and has just been serviced and MOT'd. It comes with two keys, documented dyno sheet and the original Volkswagen R32 sales brochure. After 18 years, this is a genuinely reluctant sale. I simply don't use it enough anymore. This isn't a newly modified R32 being moved on after a year or two. It's a low-mileage, long-term-owned example with a professionally engineered and proven turbo conversion, over 30,000 invested during my ownership and the appearance and character of the original R32 still intact. A genuinely rare opportunity to own a very special R32 that combines discreet factory looks with serious engineering, exceptional history and 18 years of careful ownership.
