Description

We have had the privilege of being Defender owners for the past 26 years. We have had every iteration between 200 Tdi and this version, the 2.2 Puma. This smooth and quiet (for an Landy!) engine, combined with a six-speed gear box make this a pleasure to drive and returns great mpg. We use our Defender as a recreational vehicle, primarily for camping and more latterly towing a caravan. Having switched from caravan to camper, we must reluctantly move on from being Defender owners. We purchased this vehicle in February 2025 to replace our previous one which was written off in an accident (not my fault!). Since then we have had extensive mechanical work done, with many parts replaced with new, as a consequence this is a much better vehicle than when purchased. We can provide a breakdown of all work done. It is now mechanically in excellent order, it always returns in excess of 30MPG, and frequently 35MPG. It drives beautifully, please see the video we have linked to the ad. We have treasured each Landy, maintaining them to the best of our ability using a much respected Land Rover specialist mechanic James Webb of JMW 4x4. He serviced this vehicle at the end of June 2026 in readiness for its MOT. He provides a list of any work that he recommends going forward, this is usually items that are showing some normal wear and that he estimates will be due for change at the next annual service. We will provide this list to the purchaser. JMW examined the chassis and found it to be solid so we have had it professionally steam cleaned and treated with Noxudol in July 2026 by MM 4x4. In addition to the mechanical work, the vehicle has new door seals, new wiper arms and blades, LED lights, Optimill wing top and side vent covers, Heritage grill and checker plate trim to the rear corners and door sills. There are side steps to passenger and driver doors as well as a fold down rear step. There are footwell mats, a rear load space mat as well as a Land Rover load space liner. As you can see from the many pictures we have included, this is a lovely looking Landy that drives as beautifully as it looks. We use Escape Gear canvas seat covers, these are shown in some of the pictures and are available by separate negotiation as is a Land Rover dog guard, APB trading roof bars and a 2 cycle bike rack that fits on the spare wheel. If you are interested in knowing about the work done in more detail than space here allows, please get in touch.
