UPDATE:- Since fitting new battery the small message centre displays SOS Limited Functionality. This is not a warning lamp on the dash. This is in the message centre display and can be turned off. Relates to the telematic Jaguar In Control Subscription App. It is only used to make a breakdown call directly to the Jaguar breakdown network. In Control subscription app price not worth it for me. I am subbed to Green Flag should i need assistance. It in no way affects the driveability of the vehicle. When the main battery is disconnected or replaced it is usually an easy reset using the button next to SOS button above the driver. Alas the reset is not working but it may as the lithium battery only recharges through driving the vehicle and i have only done 30 miles since. Jaguar in their infinite wisdom handily placed the consumable battery behind the rear passenger seat bolster. It is a consumable item which costs 45 pounds on Amazon. Apparently it fails, on average, every 6 - years. If it needs replacing and if you are comfortable with removing the rear passenger bolster trim and replacing the battery it is a cheap fix. I am not. We can negotiate on price to accommodate if necessary. It has a full Jaguar service history last service was the 64k one Feb 22 on 51.5k.
