Description

Classic blue MG midget 1500. This Pageant Blue 1978 MG Midget 1500 is perfect for motoring with the roof down in the sun all year round. Very solid car with under 89, 000 miles. Long list of recent improvements and new parts, including a new reconditioned gearbox and brand new clutch. Key Features & Upgrades: Low mileage: fewer than 89, 000 miles for a regularly used car. ULEZ Compliant and Road Tax Exempt. New/ reconditioned parts in the last year: Reconditioned gearbox, new clutch, new clutch slave cylinder, new gearbox and engine mounts, new stainless steel exhaust downpipe and centre pipe, reconditioned airbox, reconditioned heater tap. Recent improvements in the last 6 years of my ownership: New radiator, new hoses, new thermostat, new Revotec electric fan and new water pump. New alternator, new fan belt, new battery and new distributor cap. Upgraded Lucas ignition coil and upgraded starter motor. Mintex fast-road front and rear brake pads, plus new front caliper and new rear brake drums. New rear leaf springs. New heat shield. Brand new front LED lights. Brand new hood frame and half tonneau Recently replaced tyres and a retensioned handbrake cable. New mild steel rear box and rear exhaust pipe (for better sound). Other small additions and improvements (e. g. Air filters, rubber seals, new battery, battery isolator etc.). Comes with a radio (with AUX) and good speakers. Fully undersealed with Waxoyl. The tan interior is in excellent condition. It also has a good, working heater so that the open top can be enjoyed throughout the year. I have had the car since June 2020 and have only ever driven the car on top quality (E5) fuel; the engine runs and starts beautifully and the car has been an incredibly reliable companion since I bought it. It's been my daily driver, and I have had no issues with performance. It is the perfect choice for anyone looking to enjoy open-air motoring with the top down. As with any classic car, there are a few signs of age - the paint isn't perfect, the door and hood fitment are as you would expect for a car of its age, and the back of the driver's seat reclines slightly when using. Everything else works as it should, and it's a solid vehicle that will provide plenty of enjoyment for years to come.
