Description
1997 Mazda MX-5 Mk1 1.6 - 48,000 Miles - Rust Free - Excellent Condition
Up for sale is my 1997 Mazda MX-5 Mk1 1.6, with just 48,000 miles.
This is a genuinely lovely example that I've owned and cared for properly. It's the last year of the Mk1, and the car is in excellent condition with no rust whatsoever. The price reflects the condition, mileage and history of the car, but I am open to sensible offers. Please, no silly offers I know what I have here.
The car
- 1997 Mazda MX-5 Mk1 1.6
- 48,000 miles
- Absolutely no rust
- Fresh MOT just carried out
- Serviced every year since I've owned it
- All fluids changed within the last year
- Coil packs and spark plugs recently replaced
- Previous owner was the son of the original buyer
- Spent the majority of its life stored in a garage
- I've had it outside for the last year, but it has always been kept covered
- Comes with all the original/spare parts I removed when modifying the car
Modifications
- KBD Polyethylene body kit
- Japan Racing wheels - approximately 2 years old
- Meister R coilovers - approximately 2 years old
- Detachable Momo steering wheel
- 2 x Sparco bucket seats
- Aftermarket clear rear lights
- Clear side lights
The wheels do have a small amount of damage/curbing, but nothing major and they still present well.
Hard top & soft top
The hard top is in amazing condition and all the seals are good.
It also comes with a hard-top storage case, which retails for around 200, so you can safely store the hard top if you want to run the soft top instead.
Body & paint
The car has had a respray, but this was an exterior-only respray, meaning the original red interior panels/door cards are still red. The overall condition of the exterior is excellent and, most importantly, there is no rust.
I've also kept all the spare/original parts from before the modifications, which will be included with the car.
Why am I selling?
This is probably the hardest part of the advert for me because I genuinely wish I had never modified it and wasn't selling it.
I'm only selling because I'm moving house and have bought an EP3 instead, which is more practical for what I need at the moment.
It's a brilliant little MX-5 and, considering its age, mileage, condition and history, it's a car I've been very reluctant to let go of.
I'm open to sensible offers, but please bear in mind the condition, mileage, history and money that has gone into the car. I'm not interested in silly offers.
