This is a 1989 Jaguar XJS 3. 6 Automatic, powered by Jaguar's 3. 6-litre AJ6 straight-six petrol engine in light blue metallic with a grey leather interior and walnut veneer trim. The car has covered approximately 133, 000 miles and I have owned it since May 2020 from the previous owner who were no longer willing to pay the garage storage fees. The car has six former keepers and comes with an extensive service-history file. There is a gap in the UK history between approximately 2004 and 2018, during which time the car was in Spain. It was subsequently SORN between approximately 2018 and 2020 before I acquired it and returned it to use. The underside has been treated with rust-resistant protection. It retains its original-style lattice alloy wheels, chrome detailing, glass and much of its original interior. The interior is finished in grey leather with matching carpets and extensive walnut veneer. It remains very presentable for a car of this age, although the front seats show the expected creasing and patina from use. The rear seats are particularly well maintained. There is some age-related deterioration and cracking to parts of the veneer. The headlining has been stitched in place to prevent it sagging. There are also some areas of age-related wear to the carpets, door trim and other interior fittings. Mechanically, the car retains its 3. 6-litre AJ6 straight-six engine and four-speed automatic gearbox. The engine bay is largely original and presents as you would expect from a usable, everyday classic. There are some cosmetic items which could be improved in the future. In particular, there is age-related corrosion to some of the exterior chrome. There are also smaller cosmetic imperfections consistent with the age and mileage of the vehicle. It is an honest, usable and very presentable XJS which has already had significant cosmetic work carried out, while retaining much of its original character. Recent specialist work detail: front brake discs and pads; front brake calipers; front flexible brake hoses; front upper wishbone bushes; front shock bushes; rear brake pads; front/ rear pad pin kits; tracking/ alignment; power-steering hose; exhaust repairs; welding/ corrosion treatment; rear silencer/ link-pipe work; whole underside treated and undersealed. I bought this XJS in May 2020 because I regard it as one of Jaguar's most distinctive designs - a proper British grand tourer with an unmistakable shape, a long bonnet and a driving experience.
