VW Golf Mk1 Karmann Cabriolet | Dry Stored 6 Years with new OEM Roof | Fresh MOT | Carefully Refreshed After six years in dry storage, this Mk1 Golf Cabriolet has recently been carefully brought back into use and thoroughly detailed prior to sale. The car presents very well for its age, is in good condition underneath, drives and starts well and has a fresh MOT. It hasn't simply been washed and put straight up for sale I've been working through it carefully and preserving as much originality as possible. A brand-new OEM replacement roof was fitted approximately six years ago immediately before the car went into dry storage, so it has had very little exposure or use. The car has been washed by hand using a hose only no pressure washer, and there has been no water ingress through any seals. The interior has been carefully refreshed. All seats have been cleaned by hand to protect the original upholstery, the deep-pile carpets have been washed and vacuumed and are in great condition, and the dashboard, steering wheel, vinyl and rubber have all been deep cleaned and refreshed. Exterior grey plastics, mirrors, side trims and number-plate area have been restored. Wheels and tyres have also been thoroughly cleaned and the correct OEM-style exterior badges are being refitted. The only modification is the exhaust system, which sounds lovely without spoiling the character of the car. Also fitted with an immobiliser and Sony removable single-DIN Bluetooth/CD/USB head unit. Known points to note: Small hole in driver's seat outer bolster. Small area on bonnet where over-enthusiastic polishing has gone through the finish. Straightforward local repaint/respray, but I haven't had time due to work. Rear bootlid/bumper paint has some dullness/clearcoat deterioration - Restoration is currently underway, with final treatment due shortly. Odometer stopped recording at 118,406 miles shortly after collection. Speedometer works normally. I've covered approx. 50 miles since, so actual mileage is around 118,450. An honest, well-presented classic Cabriolet with a great story, carefully brought back into use after long-term dry storage. Plenty of photos and further details available.
