Description
A presentable 2000 916 Alfa Romeo 2.0 GTV Twin Spark Lusso Coupe in Nero Black with matching black leather interior. The car is in good mechanical and cosmetic condition, and has a clean report on CarVertical (see screenshots). I purchased this GTV with the genuine intention of recommissioning it for a fresh MOT, the last ticket having expired in mid August. I drove it on the day of purchase from north London to West Yorkshire (around 200 miles) without any issue whatsoever; the engine is strong, the gearbox is lovely, the steering is quick and precise, and devoid of any slack. The black leather interior presents very well; there is a patina, but no worn through bolsters. A tweeter cover is missing from the passenger door, and the stereo head unit isn't with the car. Externally, the passenger side door mirror casing has obvious lacguer peel, and would benefit from a repaint. There is some superficial scuffing on the nearside, most of which should polish out. There is no panel damage, and all the wheel arches are solid and free of surface bubbling. (Needless to say this is a 26 year-old car, and as such it has marks, chips and scratches commensurate with its age). A pre-MOT inspection flagged the following: the passenger door can't be opened from the inside (this is an MOT fail). Two spots require welding on one of the sills, and the rear suspension arms require replacement. These are in short supply due to the car's increasing rarity, and a little research suggests that the original items can be rebushed. That's pretty much it. This is a fundamentally sound car, just needing the right owner to afford it a little time. A trawl through the classifieds reveals a number of basket case cars requiring extensive renovation and expense to make them roadworthy again. This needs some basic fettling, no more. This is probably one of the cheapest GTV's for sale. With regard to the MOT having recently expired, I would remind any potential buyer that it is legal to drive a car without an MOT on public roads, provided it is to an MOT station.
