BMW 525i Touring Automatic - 2005 - 152k+ Miles - Project / Spares or Repair 2005 BMW 525i Touring Automatic, owned since 2018. The vehicle has been off the road since approximately December 2024 and is being sold in its current condition as a project / non-runner / spares or repair. Mechanical Condition The vehicle was last driven in early December 2024. Around this time an "Engine fault - Drive moderately" warning appeared on the dashboard. The cause was never diagnosed, so I cannot confirm what repair may be required. After the warning appeared, the engine was still able to be started on subsequent occasions and was periodically started and left running while parked. After remaining unused through colder weather, the battery eventually became fully discharged. More recently, a portable power pack provided enough power to operate some electrics and open the boot, but not enough to establish whether the engine currently starts. I have also been unable to release the bonnet to connect suitable jump leads/charger. Therefore, the vehicle's current starting/running condition is unverified.
