1984 Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk1 Original & Very Well Preserved I am selling my 1984 Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk1, a car I have proudly owned and carefully looked after for over 6 years. I bought it from a friend that had the car for over 10 years. This is a genuine, much-loved historic GTI, mostly in original condition and always dry stored. It runs and drives very well and has been maintained throughout my ownership. The car * Historic vehicle with black registration plates and shown on the V5C, Tax and MOT exemption. *cheap classic insurance, it cost me £200 per year as it is kept in a locked garage. * insurance agreed value to £8000 few years ago. * Mostly original and unmodified * Miltek exhaust is the only significant modification * Engine runs and pulls very well * Gearbox operates as it should * No known issues with the engine or gearbox * New Bosch battery * New in-tank fuel pump * Original Blaupunkt radio it was working, although I believe it now needs a new fuse Included with the car The car will come with: * Leather hood cover * Full outdoor body cover *steering Wheel lock * Immobiliser * Rear wind deflector The front seats are original Golf GTI seats and are in very good condition, although currently different colour from the original rear seats. They will come with new matching covers. Vinyl soft top The existing roof can be replaced with a new mohair soft top for an additional £600. I am happy to contribute half of the cost towards the replacement that cost £1200 This is not a showroom-perfect car, and I would rather be completely honest about that. It is a well-preserved, largely original Mk1 GTI that has been cared for and dry stored for many years. Cars like this are becoming increasingly difficult to find in original, usable condition.
