For sale is my 2002 BMW E39 525i SE Automatic, finished in the unusual and very attractive Schiefer-Grn Metallic with black leather interior.
The car has covered 139,600 miles, but what really sets this E39 apart is its exceptional documented service and maintenance history stretching right back to the beginning of its life.
The original BMW service book is present and extensively stamped, with much of the earlier servicing carried out by BMW main dealers and authorised BMW workshops, followed later by independent BMW specialists.
The service book records maintenance from as early as 16,437 miles with subsequent documented servicing at approximately *16k, 36k, 50k, 62k, 73k, 90k, 100k, 107k, 121k, 125k and 134k miles.
Importantly, the history consists of far more than just routine oil changes. There are numerous documented brake-fluid and coolant changes, along with a considerable amount of preventative and mechanical maintenance carried out over the years.
Recent & Notable Maintenance
* CCV (crankcase ventilation) system replaced**
* Water pump replaced
* Viscous cooling fan replaced
* Front brake discs and pads replaced
* Automatic gearbox fluid replaced using genuine BMW ATF
* Differential oil changed
* Fuel filter replaced
* Air filter replaced
* Drive belt replaced
* Boot gas struts replaced
* Regular engine oil servicing
* Numerous documented brake-fluid and coolant changes
At approximately 125,700 miles, the car received substantial work from an independent BMW & MINI specialist, with an invoice alone totalling over £2,000.
The car has also had professional attention to the rear sill areas. Any affected metal was cut out and repaired properly rather than simply treated or covered over, after which the repaired areas were professionally painted. All jacking points are solid.
The car has an MOT until February 2027, giving the next owner plenty of time before the next test is due.
It sits on genuine BMW alloy wheels with Michelin tyres all round and has a great period specification including black leather interior, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors and rear-door airbags.
