Description
Mazda MX-5 MK2 NB | 10th Anniversary Edition | 1.8i Petrol | 1999 T Plate | 6 speed manual | 85,706 miles on the clock | Potential Collectors Car! Car Number 7,194
Where to start with this car! This is a special car being the 10th Anniversary Edition but it has also been meticulously cared for over the years with a staggering 23 service records (nearly every single year) and stacks of maintenance invoice totaling thousands over it lifetime. It has taken part in multiple rallies with stickers for each neatly displayed inside the boot lid. It also has the framed certificate of authenticity. This has the potential to be a true collectors car.
Being the 10th Anniversary Edition, it is finished in Innocent Blue Mica Metallic with complementing part leather/part blue Alcantara seats and blue carpets. Numbered 7,194 out of 7,500 cars made, of which only 600 were UK produced.
For the age of the car, the condition is truly outstanding. The condition with the extensive service records, show that it has been very well looked after over the years and is a credit to its previous owners. There are, of course, the odd wear and tear mark, as you would expect. As most people are aware, MX-5's do suffer with rust issues. The rear arches and sills were professionally addressed in 2020 and are still in excellent condition without a spot of rust. The front chassis legs were also addressed in 2019. There are invoices for all of the work carried out.
There were two minor advisories for corrosion on the front inner sills which have been inspected and turned out to be surface corrosion. These have been cleaned, treated and re under sealed with photos to show the work that has been done. The rear lower control arms were treated as well.
The soft top is generally in good condition but does have a couple of small rips above the windows but it does not leak and has no major rips. There is a matching, colour coded, hardtop which can be purchased with the car if the new owner desires.
Although the MOT currently runs until May 2027, the car is booked in for a new MOT for the new owners piece of mind, which will hopefully be advisory free!
The car will also have a new cambelt and waterpump, along with a fresh service before it is sold.
The car has extensive service history, with it being serviced every single year from 2000 to 2014 and then from 2017 to 2020, with some main dealer services. There have been 4 services since 2020.
