Very early MGB pull-handle from January 1963. Was MoT'd Spring 2026, and has been driven regularly during my ownership (7 years). Built originally for USA market (as most early MGB's were), it was shipped to USA the day after it was made, and returned here in the early 1990s, converted to RHD and registered with a UK registration ANU234A. From old MoT certificates (part of documentation with car), the vehicle covered around 40k miles on the original engine but this was replaced with a 'gold seal' replacement 16500 miles ago whilst in previous ownership. Recent work carried out includes a gearbox refurb and overdrive replacement (2019-22), all 5 tyres (2026), windscreen (2024), carb refurbs (2023), and other minor works to either make it very reliable and recently to get it through the latest MoT in March 2026 with no advisories. It's mostly original with the main change being the replacement of the engine (which is now a 5 bearing type). Ignition has had hall-effect sensor type replacement of the coil and points, but is still running off the original Lucas distributor. As far as I can see most panels are originals (front inner wings even have the stampings from 1963 !. Car serial number is 4567, which makes this one of the oldest MGB's in the UK. Note there are no seatbelts in the car as they were not required in the 1960's. It has been garaged (dry) for last 7 years, and has only got wet three times during my ownership even though it's driven every month and has attended lots of shows and car meets in the South West. Paintwork suffered (before my ownership and not re-done) with some micro-blistering - most likely caused by being covered whilst stored - apparently a common problem, hence reason for the price considering the current classic car market. Being a 1963 car, it has no requirement for an MoT (even though it has a valid MoT), and is exempt from road tax (so is £0 and not the £395 that Autotrader shows!).
