Description
This is my Alfa Romeo 159 3.2 V6 JTS Q4 Lusso manual, my third Alfa. Having previously owned a Twin-Spark GTV and a GTV Cup, I am an enthusiast rather than someone who simply buys and sells cars. This 159 has been genuinely cared for and enjoyed.
Increasingly difficult to find, particularly in manual Q4 form, this is an example I've maintained and improved rather than simply run on.
The 3.2 V6 pulls strongly and smoothly, the manual gearbox is sharp and positive, and during my ownership it has only been run on premium unleaded. It has been fantastic to drive and recently enjoyed trips to Wales. It also has Goodwood in its history.
A considerable amount of work has been carried out. The biggest job was the propshaft. JWE in Bexleyheath professionally converted it so it can be removed in two sections, avoiding the original Alfa solution of replacing the complete propshaft costing thousands. The work included a brand-new centre bearing, and the completed propshaft was comprehensively protected before being fitted by Josh at Fleet Services.
The front and rear subframes have been welded where required and protected. MOT issues were properly addressed, with welding and replacement bushes carried out by Zeus. Both sills have also been treated with Lanoguard.
Under my ownership the car has been dry-weather use and I have not taken it out in the rain. It has been kept covered and garaged for around six months of the year, so the recent underside work and protection have not been exposed to regular wet-weather use.
It has Bilstein lowering springs to improve handling and upgraded 305mm Brembo brakes fitted shortly before I bought it.
Being the Lusso, it is also a properly luxurious place to be. The tan leather interior is immaculate and a real highlight. It has electrically adjustable front seats with memory assistance, Blue&Me plus excellent equipment.
I've regularly cleaned the car by hand. The paintwork has been clay-barred and compounded, then finished and protected. It is a 2007 car, not concours, but it presents extremely well.
The tyres are all in good condition. No electrical issues I'm aware of apart from the well-known oil gauge fault. I check the oil with the dipstick; the car does not lose oil.
This is a car that has been used, enjoyed and properly maintained, with considerable time, money and effort spent addressing the things that matter. Photographs, receipts, service history and documentation are included.
