Description
I bought this car because I've always loved the character of classic V8s, and the D2 A8 is one of those cars that feels genuinely special. It combines understated looks with an incredible level of luxury and engineering for its age.
What really makes it stand out is how solid, refined and over-engineered these cars were. The aluminium construction, double glazing and beautifully designed interior give it a completely different feel from most cars of the same era.
It's also extremely rare today, with only around 50 D2 A8s currently on the road in the UK. Finding a 4.2 V8 in particular is becoming increasingly difficult, making this a car that is likely to attract attention from collectors and enthusiasts.
At just 103,700 miles, it has low mileage for a 26+ year-old V8, adding to its appeal and collectability.
My favourite thing has to be the 4.2 V8. It's smooth, effortless and has that unmistakable old-school V8 character that you simply don't get from modern engines.
But more than anything, I love the story behind this particular car. Bringing it back after years of being unused and seeing it return to the road makes it much more than just another A8 to me.
For someone who appreciates rare classics, naturally aspirated V8s, low-mileage examples and cars with character, this is a chance to own something you simply don't see every day
