Description
2005 Nissan 350Z 3.5 V6 Manual - Bose, Sport Exhaust, Forged Alloys - Engine Fault, Priced Accordingly
Genuine project opportunity for a 350Z enthusiast. This is a desirable spec 5-speed manual, full black leather interior with contrast stitching, Bose CD/tape stereo, Rays Engineering forged alloy wheels, and an upgraded Cobra Scorpion exhaust but it needs engine work, and the price reflects that.
The fault: Car currently won't start due to a flat battery. Diagnosed with a timing chain fault (P0340 camshaft position sensor circuit) the Nissan dealer's parts and labour estimate for a full timing chain, sprockets, guides and tensioner replacement came to £5,498.12 (documented estimate available on request). Camshaft sensors were replaced first but didn't resolve the fault, confirming the chain kit is needed. An independent specialist may complete this for less than the dealer's rate.
Mileage & history: Approximately 87,000 miles, registered October 2005. Documented service and MOT history included going back to 2020, with invoices from Local Garage and Nissan Oxford. No accidents or major structural repairs.
Known advisories (from MOT history): Corroded front brake pipes (both sides, monitor/repair as necessary), front lower suspension wishbone bushes showing wear, rear tyres worn close to the legal limit. There's also some paint bubbling/light corrosion on the rear wing near the wheel arch. MOT expiring March 2027.
What's good: Electrics all working aside from the above. Radio and speakers function well; the CD player skips occasionally and the tape deck plays quietly, but these are minor. Interior is straight with light wear to the seat bolsters, dash and gauges all present and working.
Being sold as-is, priced to reflect the required work. A great base for someone wanting a 350Z without paying prices commanded by pristine examples. Viewing welcome, happy to answer questions and share the service history/invoices.
