This is probably the question a car like this prompts, particularly given its mileage and condition. I have been a Ford enthusiast for most of my life. I spent my early career with Ford Motor Company owning many RS Escorts.Eventually, as life tends to do, a little more sense crept in and those days came to an end. When Covid brought that chapter of my career to an unexpected close, I decided to buy myself a present and the Focus RS Red Edition was it. It has been an absolute joy to own. I have deliberately kept it completely original and have probably been rather more meticulous with it than was strictly necessary. It has been properly stored through the winters, comprehensively maintained and protected, and every time I have taken it out it has put a smile on my face. More recently, I have taken a step back and looked at how I actually spend my time. I travel a great deal, and the reality is that this car spends far more time being carefully stored than being driven. That has led me to the rather uncomfortable question: what is the point of keeping such a special car if I'm not using it? I am therefore reluctantly considering letting it go to another enthusiast who will appreciate what it is and, hopefully, use and enjoy it as it deserves. I am still slightly torn about selling it which probably says more about the car than anything else. The intention throughout my ownership has been very simple: preserve the car, maintain it properly and keep it original.
