SPARE AND REPAIR - FAULTY GEARBOX. Good runner, is currently drivable but will need gearbox repaired / replaced and two front tyres. MOT until Match 2027. Open to offers. Please see below diagnostic completed on 25/08/2026 and recommendation for repair; Carried out diagnostics on the Ford Ka and found a suspected internal bearing failure within the gearbox. This is causing the reported gearbox noise when accelerating and also on the overrun. At this stage, we recommend that the gearbox is removed and stripped for further inspection, with the bearing set replaced as required. Once the gearbox has been stripped, we will carry out a full inspection of the internal components and confirm whether any further parts are required. At present, we cannot identify any additional issues; however, this cannot be confirmed until the gearbox has been removed and dismantled. We would therefore require the gearbox to be removed and stripped before we can confirm the exact internal parts required and provide any additional recommendations. While the gearbox is removed, we will also inspect the clutch assembly and advise the customer on its current condition and remaining wear.
