Description
1998 Mazda RX-7 FD3S Type RB Bathurst, 5-speed manual, approx. 96,000km / 60,000 miles.
Fresh Japanese import which I won through a Safety Drive Australia competition. I'm testing the water before carrying on spending money getting it exactly how I want it. Funds/time are being pulled elsewhere, so adulting comes first!
Currently not UK registered or MOT'd. Import/NOVA side is completed with paperwork to hand. It needs an MOT and DVLA registration; being over 10 years old there is no IVA required. Starts, runs and drives and has done very little since arriving in the UK.
Spec includes HKS exhaust, HKS coilovers, HKS intake pipework, APEXi induction filter, RE Amemiya front bumper/canards, aftermarket rear lights and bronze Advan RG-D wheels.
CAR VX confirms it as a genuine Type RB Bathurst and shows consistent recorded mileage with no odometer rollback issue.
The previous RNation/Safety Drive listing stated that a brand-new/replacement 13B-REW engine was fitted in 2023. I didn't commission the work myself, so I'm passing that on as documented previous history rather than claiming I have an invoice for the engine build.
Originally silver and later resprayed white in Japan, which is reflected in the auction history. Paint is generally good and the car presents really well.
Arches are clean with no obvious issues around the arch lips. I've had the liners out myself and have plenty of photos. Underside is very clean and has not been freshly covered in underseal, so you can see what you're buying. My intention was to have it properly protected for UK use once registered.
There is a small amount of rust starting around the rear window.
Rear spoiler was removed by me after finding water ingress around the mounting points, hence the temporary large bolts/washers sealing the holes. Spoiler and hardware are included.
It was a Grade R car and CAR VX records previous collision/repair history. Japanese auction sheets and CAR VX report are available; I'd rather be upfront about it than have someone turn up expecting a museum piece.
Also included are spare headlights/assemblies, spark plugs, spare battery and replacement washer bottle.
Really cool-looking late FD with interesting history and plenty of decent Japanese parts.
Located near Blackpool.
