Description
2014 Mercedes-Benz E220 CDI Estate - 19" AMG Alloys - Mercedes Replacement Engine
Well-presented 2014 Mercedes-Benz E220 CDI Estate with 171,000 miles. Excellent condition for its age and mileage, with significant recent expenditure on servicing and maintenance.
The engine was replaced by Mercedes-Benz at approximately 70,000 miles after a timing chain failure. It was the later redesigned unit and has covered around 100,000 miles since. I have serviced it carefully, changing the oil and filter approximately every 9,000 miles using Mercedes-specification oil. Major services were completed roughly every 30,000 miles, including fuel filter, differential oil, coolant and brake fluid changes. Receipts are available.
Approximately £2,500 has recently been spent, including:
4 x Bilstein B6 shock absorbers fitted within the last 6 months
Premium Bridgestone tyres fitted recently, covering around 3,000 miles
Recent full/major service
Rear air springs and compressor replaced approximately 18 months ago
The bodywork and interior are excellent for the age and mileage, with only minor cosmetic blemishes around the bumpers.
The car is Cat N following non-structural front bumper damage last year. Photos of the original damage and repair are available. The vehicle is structurally sound and was repaired before returning to use.
Important points:
The clutch has an intermittent worn-bearing noise. There is currently no clutch slip and it operates normally, but replacement will eventually be required.
An intermittent starting/module fault has recently developed. Approximately once every 1,000 miles, the car may fail to start and currently requires the battery to be disconnected and reconnected to reset it. This has happened around three times. The issue appeared after fitting a new Halfords battery, so this or an associated electrical/module fault may be contributing, although the cause is not confirmed.
The price reflects these issues and they are disclosed in full. Inspections and questions are welcome before purchase.
