Description

Up for sale is my MX-5 NC 2.0 with 5 former keepers (6 including myself). I've owned it for the last year and a half and absolutely loved it, but life changes mean I need to switch to something a bit bigger for daily duties. It comes with almost full service history, and I did the last full service myself back in May 2026. The previous owner fitted lowering springs and painted the stock alloys bronze, which transforms the stance and makes it handle properly on a twisty road without being a pain to live with daily. Since taking ownership, I've gone over the car to sort all the usual quirks and maintenance and keep it running spot-on. On the cooling side, it's had a brand new thermostat, new coolant, and new expansion tank done so you don't have to worry about the original cracking. Mechanically, it's had fresh engine oil and filters, new spark plugs, and new ignition coil packs fitted this year. The gearbox had a fresh oil change this year, new high-flow K&N air filter, new front wishbones on both sides, a new offside drop link, and brand new tyres all round early this year. The brakes have had a massive overhaul too. I put new discs and pads all round in 2025, and followed that up in 2026 with new front calipers, rebuilt slider carriers, braided brake lines, and fresh brake fluid, so it can certainly stop. Sound-wise, I've fitted a Cobalt cat-back exhaust. It gives the 2.0-litre engine a proper deep note when you press on, but it's nicely refined and doesn't drone on the motorway. Inside, I've added a 2.5" Jass Performance seat lowering kit which is an absolute game changer if you're over 5'10, as you actually sit in the car rather than on top of it. I've also fitted a double-DIN head unit with wired Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, metal foot pedals, and a few subtle chrome trim bits to smarten up the cabin. The paint isn't perfect but expected from a car that's now 20 years old. The driver's seat does need some attention, but an upholstery specialist should be able to fix easily. Do note the car has only 1 key and does lack A/C but you can say it's weight saving and not needed when the roof is down. I'll be sad to see her go, but I hope she gets taken care of by someone like myself who's passionate about cars and restoring them back to their glory days.
