Equipment and features The engine found in the Alpina Roadster is a hand-built 3.4-litre straight six, related to the S52 unit found in the North American specification E36 M3. Alpina made thousands of revisions to BMW's Z4, including Alpina tuned suspension and drivetrain - with a shorter rear axle ratio - plus signature upgrades such as high-strength Mahle pistons and an Alpina-specific cylinder head and crankshaft.
