I am passing on my 2008 unique spotty Beetle as it is going to fail its MOT in October. It is still driving well at present. I have been reliably told: It is breathing heavy, is burning more oil, the engine would need stripping down and overhauling, it would need new piston rings and valve guides and probably a new catalytic converter and needs some welding on the passenger side sill (as I've tried to show in the photos). It needs someone who loves Beetles and wants to keep this unique car on the road who will either pay for the repairs or someone who is mechanical and can do the repairs themselves. I have had the car for over 9 years and my friend who put the spots on had it from new. So only two (good) owners. It had always had regular services and has as far as I can remember always passed its MOT until now. It has never broken down in all the time I have had it, although that may not be relevant at this point.
