Description

Welcome to the sale of my BMW Z4. If you know your E85 Z4s, you'll know this is the one to have: the superb and famously robust 3.0 litre M54 straight six engine, paired with the 6 speed manual gearbox. Whilst the M54 3.0 that came in the pre-facelift is 30bhp less powerful than the N52 3.0 that followed in the facelift from 2006 onwards, the M54 is known for its bullet proof reliability with many examples of 250/300k cars out there (if properly maintained). This particular car was very well specified from the factory and comes with an excellent list of optional extras, including Xenon headlights, heated seats, heated and electrically folding exterior mirrors, Sport button, 18" CSL style alloy wheels and more. Mechanically, the car is superb. It has been serviced consistently throughout its life on time, which is supported by a bible of history and a fully stamped service history. Most recently, it received a major service just a few hundred miles ago this summer. It has also benefited from preventative maintenance, including replacement of the oil filter housing gasket just last month. The notoriously troublesome roof motor has also been relocated to the boot, helping protect it from the water ingress that is a common issue on E85s. Two months ago, I also spent £400 having the car professionally detailed. This included a full machine polish and ceramic coating, along with a waterproofing treatment for the fabric roof, which itself remains in great condition. Cosmetically, the car presents well. I'd describe it as a "one metre car"! stand a metre back and it looks fantastic, but examine it closely and, as you would expect at this age, you'll find the odd scratch, stone chip and imperfection. The most noticeable is some fading to the paintwork on the front left wing, something commonly seen on E85 Z4s of this age. There is however zero rust or large dents to report. Overall, this is a low mileage and very well maintained example. Genuine reason for sale, with the imminent arrival of another child, practicality has finally won and the Z4 has been replaced by a sensible estate car! Any inspection is very welcome, thanks for reading.
