Jan 1991 Mini Cooper RSP (Rover Special Products) In 1990 Rover asked John Cooper to come to the factory and put together a car of his choice to resurrect the name Mini Cooper. He chose the MG Metro single carb engine, the half leather interior from the Mini 30, a glass sunroof, fog and spotlights, with several other detail changes. 1650 cars were sold. 1100 in the UK, the rest went to Germany and Japan. All the UK cars were taken before they reached the showrooms as they were seen as an investment. This is car number 311 The half leather interior and some other items were dropped on the final production run. H150CEG has had a 7 year restoration, mounted on a rollover jig. It has new floors, inner and outer sills and genuine Rover front wings that are Cataphoretic coated to prevent corrosion. The engine was removed cleaned and checked. The original pistons are as new after 102,000 miles (less than 4,000 miles a year). They were cleaned, the valves were lapped in and everything re-assembled including the rare original snorkel air filter. The body was professionally sprayed inside and out From green to RSP Flame Red. The original interior was kept where possible except for the new carpets and the driver's seat base. Since the restoration, the car has had very little use, doing 100 miles between MOTs so the decision has been made to sell the car rather than get damaged when standing in the garage.
