Description

An exceptional Triumph TR3, comprehensively renovated and restored in 2014 to an impressive standard. Acquired as a project in 2012, the car became the focus of a meticulous two-year mechanical and cosmetic restoration. Undertaken as a genuine labour of love, the completed TR3 has since been enjoyed sparingly in the manner intended: roof down, on fair-weather drives along quieter roads. The restoration encompassed a reconditioned engine, gearbox and differential, complemented by desirable upgrades including overdrive, rack-and-pinion steering, electronic ignition, an alternator and a pre-engaged starter motor. The result is a beautifully presented roadster with enhanced usability and drivability. For the body and paintwork, every panel was removed before being expertly refinished in Porsche Guards Red by Warrington Restorations. While a departure from the car's original Triumph Pearl White, the rich red finish is superbly complemented by the immaculate beige leather interior, giving the car a commanding and highly attractive presence. The restoration was supported by respected marque specialists TR Trader, John Skinner Manufacturing and TR Bitz, with a substantial invoice file accompanying the car. The owner estimates total expenditure to have exceeded 40,000 extensive Original Brooklands fly screens are also supplied with the vehicle. Further mechanical enhancements include a ported cylinder head and fast-road camshaft, paired with a performance exhaust and extractor manifold which creates a lovely tone and very improved performance MOT tested in August 2026 with no advisories recorded.
