Volkswagen Caddy Maxi Life 1.6 Diesel Automatic (DSG) 2013 - 88,700 miles Replacement Engine by Ivor Searle + fully reconditioned gearbox, reconditioned DSG (mechatronic) & duel clutch replacement. (done at 88,500 miles) Come with pop top & wheelchair ramp. this could easily be swapped out for a low base for a more camper style setup. The underside has already been modified to allow for a low base camper set up due the wheelchair ramp. This vehicle had come to me with a blown engine. Considering its fitted extras and lower mileage I deemed it was worth reconditioning. I therefore fitted a recon engine along with other components. These included EGR valve & cooler (common to fail), Injector leak off pipe & a full service including all filters. Upon completion I found the DSG (mechatronic) to be faulty selecting wrong gears. This being the likely cause of the engine failure I removed the gearbox & sent it along with the mechatronic unit off for reconditioning (by Bristol Transmissions). They relaced first gear, the dual clutch system & reconditioned (upgraded) the mechatronic. It was then refitted along with a new dual mass flywheel. A few other items have been replaced due to wear such as suspension arms, wiper blades & battery. This vehicle is well equipped for use as a day van, Camper van (pop top can turn into a bed) or a regular van (rear seats can clip off & leave a large flat space in the rear. Has an after market stereo fitted which all appears to be working with Bluetooth/Spotify/Maps Has a fresh MOT, only upcoming jobs would be some new brake pads & discs on the front Few scraps on the paintwork & minor dent. Nothing serious but can't say the paintwork is perfect. Really nice & practical motor what should bring years of trouble-free motoring. Drives like a dream with the fully reconditioned engine/gearbox A viewing and test drive will soon show why this Caddy is a cut above the rest!
