Description
Bought this car at the start of the year as a summer car after watching the Ipswich to Felixstowe Historic Vehicle Run. Previous owner had owned her for around 30 years and kept her dry garaged.
She has been sealed inside and out. Where rust was present, it has been sanded down and primer applied, although there are still some spots yet to receive that treatment. Additionally, this car has had aftermarket rollover protection fitted.
In my ownership I have changed the spark plugs (NGK), aux belt, engine oil (Castrol) and oil filter, coolant, and thermostat gasket.
I had also bought a replacement throttle cable, as the old one is a little notchy due to a split in its outer jacket/sheath. Unfortunately, the replacement cable broke during installation, so the throttle pedal remains a little notchy.
The carbs are okay and she idles happily, although they could do with a proper tune.
The seat bolstering material has gone a little soft and occasionally a bit may appear under the seat, however the seats themselves are generally in good condition and comfortable.
REASON FOR SALE: I currently own this Triumph as well as a Toyota MR2, (which you may be able to see in the background of some of the photos). Coming into winter, I don't have a need for two convertibles, and I also don't have access to a garage to keep the Triumph in over winter. I'll also be needing a more suitable winter car than a rear-wheel-drive convertible.
This car has been very well looked after. I have tried to be as transparent as possible in the pictures, but if you have any questions, please give me a ring.
